Itinerary
Day 1
Depart via deluxe motorcoach and head for our beautiful capital on the Potomac River... Washington is a breathtaking sight in the spring during CHERRY BLOSSOM TIME with the gorgeous blossoms lining the Tidal Basin. Enjoy 3 nights at the HILTON TOWERS ARLINGTON. Welcome dinner marks our arrival...
Day 2
Meet our local guide for a CITY TOUR OF DC to see the famous memorials...highlighting the new Eisenhower Memorial, Vietnam & Korean War Memorials, FDR, WWI Memorial, World War II Memorial and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial… a must see! Free time this afternoon at SMITHSONIAN to visit the many world-famous museums… appropriately nicknamed America’s Attic. Dinner tonight before we wrap up today’s events with our traditional WASHINGTON-BY-NIGHT tour of the beautifully illuminated monuments.
Day 3
Visit the NATIONAL AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM’S STEVEN F. UDVAR-HAZY CENTER located in Chantilly, VA. The center’s vast exhibition space displays thousands of aviation and space artifacts in two large hangers including the Space Shuttle Discovery, a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, an Air France Concorde, and the B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay. This afternoon we’ll return to the National Mall for another afternoon at your leisure to continue exploring the many museums DC has to offer. Return to the hotel to relax before departing for the NATIONAL HARBOR tonight to enjoy dinner on your own. The National Harbor is set directly on the Potomac River and the Waterfront District has a variety of restaurants and shops to choose from.
Day 4
We arrive at ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY...America’s largest national burial ground. Hop aboard the tour mobile to see the grounds with stops at the grave of JFK and his brothers, Robert & Ted, and the Tomb of the Unknowns. Head towards home with great memories of our 4 day weekend in DC!
